Tonga Lashed By Hurricane (A .2 Press Association I WELLINGTON. March 17. Three hurricanes are raging in the Pacific ocean. The most severe storm is in the Tonga group where winds of up to 90 m.p.h. have been reported. A second hurricane which struck the Society islands last night is now moving slowly south to the Austral (Tubuai) islands. Winds of between 70 and 80 m.p.h. have been reported in the area. Only the western region of the Society islands was hit by the hurricane which is expected to reach the Austral group late tomorrow or Sunday. The third hurricane is located in the New HebridesSolomon islands region. At present it is stationary.
