D. Joyce, aged 16, recorded j fastest times in the 75 yards and 100 yards at an inter-club) athletic meeting at Rugby Park I on Saturday. Running in the second section i of the senior 75 yards, Joyce j recorded B.lsec. which was 0.1 ’ sec faster than the time of D.| Minards in the first section. Soon after. Joyce won the; junior 100 yards in the excel-) lent time of 10.3 sec. As most of the best senior men and women athletes were I taking part in the national 1 championships at Hamilton, there was a poor muster.’ • D. Davison showed a return ■ to form with a good second in; the senior 220 yards to Minards.. who returned 22.95ec. P. Hewlett won the junior; 440 yards in 53.55ec and G. Fullerton was an easy first in the hammer throw with a distance: of 147 ft 3’ 2 in. A. Bayard won the junior mile in 4min 40sec and the 1500 ’ metres steeplechase in 4min 43; sec.
