Rugby RISMAN FOR LEAGUE
Player Turns Professional
(N.Z.P.A .-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON. March 8. The Rugby Union player. B. Risman. turned professional tonight for the Leigh Rugby League Club. The undisclosed fee was believed to be the highest ever paid to an individual. Risman. aged 23, was hailed in New Zealand two years ago as the finest fly-haif in the world. Risman has played at both fly-half and centre for England. He is a physical education student at Loughborough Training College. Risman’s father is coaeh of the Oldham Rugby League Club and was formerly an outstanding League player and Welsh International. B. Risman. a former cap. tain of England schoolboys' gained his first senior cap for England against Wales in January. 1959. This season he has played against South Wales, Ireland and France, bringing bis total of caps to eight.
