(N.Z.P.A .-Reuter—Copyright) MELBOURNE, March 9 New safeguards against “dumping" of goods from Commonwealth and foreign countries were to be established soon by means of amendment to the Customs Tariff Act, the Melbourne morning newspaper. the “Ase.” said today. The paper said its Canberra correspondent understood the “dumped" goods about which the Government was mainly concerned were: Paperboard from New Zealand. chemicals from Japan, textiles from China, “end-of-season” fashions and publications from the United States, and goods “from other States which manipulate their export prices for political reasons.”
