IX.Z. Firm To Have Dismissed men
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, March 7. Todd Motor Industries. LZd.. of New Zealand, is offering jobs to car workers dismissed in Australia. The firm promises luxury working conditions. It has its headquarters in Wellington.
A spokesman for the firm said «in Sydney today: “We offer permanent positions for men in all departments of our ‘assembly plant. “We expect most of the inquiries and applications from single men. but conditions are just as good for the married man.”
The firm is asking for metal finishers. welders. spray painters, paint department assistants, trim and chassis assemblers, fitters and turners. sheet metal workers and storemen.
Conditions offered include marriage and maternity benefits. a 10-minute smoko morning and afternoon with free cups of tea. free life insurance for permanent employees. and a centrallyheated factory. Men with manufacturing or assembly experience are offered above £A2S a week to start.
When an employee has been with the firm for nine months he will be refunded his single tourist-class fare.
