Company News Good Prospects For Humes Ltd.
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 8. Humes, Ltd., Melbourne, have declared interim dividends of 7 per cent, ordinary and 32 per cent, on “A” and “B” preference. Dividends are payable on March 30. ex March 7. Directors also advise that it is their present belief that a final dividend of 7 per cent, on ordinary shares will be paid this year on the recently enl- -ged ordinary capital. Higher Sales Sales for the six months ended December 31 were above those of the corresponding period of the previous financial year and, despite higher operating costs, profits for the period were satisfactory. It is anticipated that profits for the year ended June 30 will exceed those for the previous year, subject to there being no serious curtailment of business owing to the present credit restrictions in Australia.
