Forgot The Money

LONDON, March 7. The New Zealand Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) drew guarded compliments from salesgirls today for his efforts in selling his country’s dairy produce at the London “Ideal Home” exhibition . There was just one criticism of his technique. He omitted to collect any money from the customers. Mr Holyoake delighted the crowds by stepping up among the New Zealand salesgirls during his visit to the exhibition, his first public appearance in Britain, the “Daily Mail” said. At a fierce pace he began selling his country’s butter and cheese.

The salesgirls told him that while he was selling well, he was not collecting the money. At least one woman customer received butter free before the girls controlled Mr Holyoake’s enthusiasm.
