MINOR FIRES
At 2.29 p.m. yesterday, two units from the central fire station attended a rubbish fire on a property at 16 Hereford street. There was no damage. At 3.42 p.m.. an oven fire at the home of Mr Bruce Vineent at 414 Main North road was attended by a unit from St Albans.
No damage was caused by another oven fire at 1080 Avonside drive which was attended by a unit from Woolston. The house is occupied by Mr Hugh McKay.
Noxious Weeds. George Lindsay Couch was convicted and ordered to pay 30s costs by Mr E. A. Lee. S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court at Lyt’elton yesterday for failing to clear noxious weeds.
