DISPERSAL SALE
Silver Kingdom For 650 Guineas (N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN Feb. 24. Silver Kingdom, a well-de-veloped two-year-old gelding by Silver King from the Paper Slipper mare, Molos. brought top price of 650gns at the dispersal sale of thoroughbred stock of the Wingatui owner-trainer, Mr D. J. McDonald, this afternoon. He was purchased by Mrs A. A. Duncan and Mr W. J. Duncan, of Heriot. Second top price of 275gns was paid by Mrs M. E. Aitken. Dunedin. for the chestnut filly by Silver King from the New Zealand Oaks winner. Lady Scholar. Lady Scholar, with an attractive looking colt at foot by Silver King, was purchased by Mrs D. E. Brass and Mr W. W. Brass, of Makarewa. Invercargill, for 270gns. The only other three-figure purchase was that of the Invercargill studmaster, Mr A. J. Lawton. He secured the 11-year-old brood mare. Half Sovereign, a half-sister to the brilliant galloper Irish Note, for 100 guineas. Royal Chant was sold in the ring at 900gns to Mr F. Norman, of Dunedin, who was acting on behalf of Mr McDonald. Royal Chant is racing at Dunedin tomorrow. The Beulah Lodge property was not sold.
