The contest will consist of three different trials organised under United Fire Brigades Associations" rilles. These will entail rigging hoses of various lengths and under a variety of conditions. Jets will be directed to break paper disks at distances of up to 100 feet This contest will be held at Kaiapoi. The two towns generally take turns in supplying grounds for the event, but as Kaiapoi has been more favourably situated in this respect the contest was held there last year as well Power Off.— Weather permitting, power will be off throughout the Kaikoura and Cheviot counties on Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for line and sub-station maintenance.
