The President said all those Federal Government employees who had obtained their jobs through civil service examinations should -e--main at their posts. The Finance Minister (Mr Clemente Mariano) yesterday announced measures to cut Federal spending The President also ordered all Ministers to prepare within 15 days reports on spending cuts of up to 30 per eent for each department United Press International said the mass dismissals were reminiscent of the President’s action In 1954 when, as Governor of Sao Paulo State, he dismissed 11.000 employees .in a single day. &
