Membership Now 712
With an increase of 55 subscribers last year, the St. Martins Public Library now has a membership of 712. The juvenile section, with a membership of 470, showed an increase of 18. Fifty members who attended the annual meeting were told that during the year 1221 new books costing £753 4s 2d were bought. Of these 207 were non-fiction. To make room for new books 4014 books were withdrawn from circulation . and given to worthy causes. The number of books at the library was 20,024, of which 3805 were non-fletton. In the adult section 60,807 and magazines were issued during the year and 5755 books were issued in the juvenile section. The following officers were elected:—Patron, the Mayor, Mr G. Manning; president, Mr F. L. Donnelly; treasurer, Mr L. Cotton; secretary, Mrs B. Colclough; buyer, Mrs M. M. Wilkins: auditors. Miss A. A. Milne and Mr A Hill; vicepresidents, Messrs N. E. Kirk, M.P., A. Brown, R. Thackwell, H. E. Leech, T. E. Jones, Judge Archer, Messrs D. W. Lyall, P. Hollander, Dr. E. H. H. Taylor. Dr. L. H. Scott, Dr. D. M, Mcllroy, and Dr. J. Turner; committee, Mesdames M. Alexander. E. Allsop, D. L. Sharp, E. Batchelor, N. Forbes. D. Burford, N. Gilray, N. Stringer, I. Gold, J. L. Grant,,J. Streeter, D. Clephane, J. Cook, R. Hobbs, P. Robertson, B. Eagle, E. Jones, R. B. McCutcheon. G. Cairney, L. Cotton, B. Hardwick, V. Hollander, Miss A. A. Milne, Messrs L. Sharp, B. Thomson, J. L. Grant, A Ivory, F. Wilson, G. Cade, F. L.
