Elections In New Guinea
PORT MORESBY, Feb. 20 Native* and Europeans will go to the polls in Dutch West New Guinea this week to exercise their right to vote for the first time.
They will elect 18 members to the newly-formed 27-mem-ber New Guinea Council. The Representative Council will replace the old Council of Directors whose members were all heads of departments in the territory’* administration. Elections will be held in 14 electorates.
