RACING Thomson Team Not Going To Wingatui
Riccarton representation at the Dunedin Jockey Club’s autumn meeting will not be at all strong. Riccarton trainer, K. J. Thomson, has cancelled plans to take four members of his team south, and I. McClure will not make the trip either.
Members of Thomson’s team entered for the meeting were Gabbler. Studio, and the two-year-olds Star Maiden and Springsure.
Hyde and Prospero, members of McClure’s team nominated for Wingatui, will not make the trip. Hyde will go to Trentham next month with Navarro.
J. L. Barr has made provisional plans for Quick Time, Kastanea. and Donna Marie to race at Wingatui and he will make a final decision after he sees the weights this morning Quick Time <W. Donovan) and Kastanea (T. Wilson) ran a fast mile on the trial grass at Riccarton on Saturday. They were abreast after running the distance in Imin 42 4-ssec.
