Electronic Tester
Since automobiles chugged off the primitive assembly lines, mechanics and engineers have sought a way to check spark plugs in actual engine operation. In later years, only expensive laboratory equipment was capable at performing this function. However, after extensive research and development by a spark plug company in the United States an electronic spark plug tester known as the Plug-Scope has been developed. This instrument, with the ability to check spark plugs within the combustion chamber, is a light-weight portable instrument with low power requirements and excellent resistance to vibration.
Traditionally, customer resistance to spark plug inspection has been based on their hesitance because of the time factor involved. With the Plug-Scope, any serviceman can electronically check in less than three minutes spark plug conditions without removing the spark plugs from the engine.
Monte Carlo Bally.— For the fourth successive year, a Sunbeam Rapier was the highest placed British car in the . Monte Carlo rally, and Sunbeams took two class wins in this 2000 mile event. A fine drive by Peter Harper round the twisting Monaco grand prix circuit in the final classification test, secured the class win. His fastest lap, two minutes 15.1 seconds, was by far the fastest of the day, beating many more powerful Continental and British cars and making Harper the highest placed British driver in the Rally for the third time.
