KAKAPO IN CAPTIVITY.—The third of the three kakapos recently captured in Fiordland National Park by officers of the Wildlife Branch of the Department of Internal Affairs. The birds are now on a Wairarapa farm. This photograph was taken by Mr P. Morrison, the Wildlife Branch photographer, when the birds were being measured in an effort to determine their sex—the only occasion they have been disturbed in their enclosure. No more photographs will be taken for some time.
