No Sign Found Of Nash
(R-Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb. 9.
The Auckland waterfront payroll thief, Trevor Edward Nash, is still at large in spite of one of the most intensive searches ever made in the city area by police. Many persons have been interviewed, and a number of houses searched since Nash escaped from the Auckland Prison last Friday afternoon, but there has been no sign of him. There has been no evidence that further attempts have been made to spend the £lB,OOO which has not been recovered from the £19,000 payroll Nash stole from the Waterfront Industry Commission.
For the first time in New Zealand, the police tonight used television to appeal to the public for help in the search. Photographs of Nash were televised shortly after 9 p.m. An announcement accompanied ihe photographs, giving a description of Nash and asking for any information that might lead to his capture.
