DEATH OF ANNA MAY WONG.—An early photograph of Anna May Wong, the famous Americanborn Chinese actress, who has died at her home in Santa Monica, California, at the age of 54. Miss Wong, once a symbol of oriental mystery in such Hollywood films as “Mr Wu,” and “Shanghai Express,” had only two days before her death finished work in a television show. Her first role was opposite Douglas Fairbanks in “Thief of Bagdad” in 1924, and in the 1930’s she was one of Hollywood’s busiest actresses.
