POSTAL OFFICER TO RETIRE

Mr I. F. Moss, head postal assistant, Christchurch, is to retire on February 16. He spent all his departmental career in this area, having worked at the Chief Post Office, Christchurch, and the Upper Riccarton Post Office Postal assistants are the staff who deal with the transport of mails.

Mr Moss began duty in the department as a temporary message boy, Christchurch, on December 1, 1919. He received promotion to head postal assistant on February 7. 1956.
