LLS. Conductor’s Visit

A rare opportunity for Christchurch churchgoers and choir members will take place this month when one of the outstanding figures in American church musie (Dr. John Finley Williamson, founder and conductor of the famous Westminster Choir College at Princeton, New Jersey) arrives to conduct the first school of church music held in the city for many years. Sponsored by the Presbytery of Christchurch with the Christchurch branch of the

National Council of Churches, assisted by leaders of church music in the city, the school will consist of three evening lessons to be held on February 20. 22. and 23 in the Durham street Methodist Church. At these lessons. Dr. Williamson will lecture and train the school as a choir while giving instruction in choir training and voice method. All persons attending the school will have the opportunity to sing. Music will be from the Scottish Psalter and Church Hymnary and from selected anthems.

Members of the school will be invited to form the choir for a public 'horal service to be conducted in the Durham street church on the evening of February 25
