NEW DAIMLER SPORTS

AXE of the most interesting entries in Saturday’s sports car race is the Daimler S.P. 250 V-8 shown here photographed outside the Christchurch International Airport terminal buildings. This flexible high performance sports car is capable of 120 miles an hour and can accelerate from 0 to 100 miles per hour in 26.95ec. Its excellent suspension gives it full racing car stability when cornering at speed. The car has astonishing acceleration both in the lower ranges and nearing top speed. A contributing factor is the lightness of the all fibreglass body which has remarkable strength in resisting impact. Daimler has now changed to V-8 engines and the power unit of this car with a capacity of two and a half litres develops 140 horse power at 5800 r.p.m. The price ot tne ca:' in New Zealand is £1960. The car will be raced at ■Wigram on Saturday with standard road equipment.
