First-Class Averages

B. Sutcliffe, of Otago, easily heads the batting aggregates and averages for the first-class matches played so far this season. P G. Z. Harris is second on both lists. and the M.C.C. opening batsman. R. M. Prideaux, is third in the averages. The M.C.C. fast bowler. J. D. F. Larter, has easily the best average, and D. D. Beard, of Central Districts, has taken most wickets. In the averages below, for the Plunket Shield games and for the M.C.C.’s matches against Auckland. Wellington. Canterbury and Otago, only batsrnen who have played at least three innings for an average of 25 or more, and bowlers with a minimum of 10 wickets at a cost not exceeding 30 runs each, have been included.
