Speed-Boats

Sir,—“Anxious Mother” can rest assured that the speedboats. etc, have their eye on the children and that no harm comes from that direction. What “Anxious Mother” should be more concerned about is tile dog menace at Motunau beach, as many as seven at one time. As the river-mouth is mostly tussock there is not a square yard that one could safety sit on. I saw one pile of children’s clothing being polluted and one picnic lunch being emptied into the river. We know they should be on a lead but who is to be the “policeman?’’— Waipara County Council, the Beach Association, or the Health Department?—Yours, etc, ANXIOUS FATHER. January 16, 1961.
