GISBORNE. January 17.

Found drunk in a cafe with his car parked nearby, a commercial pilot. Donald Cameron, aged 38, today was found guilty of being in charge of a car while under the influence of drink io such an extent as to be incapable of proper control of the vehicle. Mr L. N Ritchie. S.M.. fined Cameron £l5 and susoended his driving licence for six months, to be followed by a three-year endorsement. On a further charge of hav-

ing been found drunk in a public place on the same date Cameron was convicted and discharged. A plea of not guilty to both charges was entered bv Cameron’s counsel. Mr B. H Bull Prosecuting, Sergeant R. T. Keane, who called medical evidence that Cameron was unfit to be in charge of a car. said Cameron had left the car kevs in the ignition switch The Magistrate said he was satisfied Cameron was legally in charge of the car.
