N.Z. SUCCESSES AT SYDNEY

Inter-Dominion Championships (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY. January 3. New Zealanders scooped the pool in the first heat of the inter-Domin-ion 12-foot yachting championship on Sydney Harbour yesterday. The New Zealand team of 12 yachts dominated the event, and filled the first seven places. The winner. Flamingo, crossed the line more than four minutes ahead of Magic, with Fugitive third. Queensland and Victorian entrants were outclassed, and the first Australain boat to finish was Scandal (New South Wales), in eighth place. New Zealand boats took control soon after the start, and in spite of frequent calms, maintained control throughout. Flamingo held a lead of 10 minutes at the half-way mark but was caught during a lull, then sailed right away over the last two miles.
