Chiropractors’ Act In Force

The Chiropractors’ Act. passed by Parliament in the 1960 session. came into force on January 1. The act provides for the registration of chiropractors and makes it an offence for a person to advertise himself as a chiropractor or chiropractic expert or to hold himself out as a registered chiropractor unless he is registered. It establishes a chiropractic board with powers to discipline registered chiropractors who commit offences against the act, and requires certain minimum educational qualifications from persons who seek registration. The act also requires registered chiropractors to be in possession of an annual practising certificate, but this provision of the act does not become effective until April 1.
