Police are awaiting an analysis of the stomach contents of two racehorses which died during a race meeting at Mount Isa, Central Queensland, on Saturday. The specimens were put in sealed bottles and sent by air to the animal research institute, Yeronstopilly. Brisbane. Todav a Mount Isa police team continued investigations into the deaths. A seven-year-old horse, Yaltunga, dropped dead while returning to scale after a race on Saturday It had just won its race by almost 10 lengths. The horse is owned by Mr J. Auriach, of Yaltunga, Northern Territory. Later in the meeting, an aged horse, Moonlight Bay, dropped dead while doing its preliminary gallop. Moonlight Bay is owned by Mrs Thelma Mackay, of Mount Isa.
