Freeway Leads R Class
With most of the R-class squadron out of Christchurch for the Leander Trophy contest in Auckland, the field for the Tankard race on the Estuary yesterday was a small one. Results of the non-handicap race held by the Christchurch club were as follows: Freeway (C. Papps and B. MeKnight), 4:35.12, 1: Vision (A. W. Shields and B. Marriott). 4:37.7. 2; Comet (R. Davies and W. Beere). 4:44.55, 3. The Finn Puffin (D. Gardiner) racing with the R’s In a combined race returned home at 4:41.
