First Round Completed (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, December 18. Players omitted from the Auckland representative team dominated "1® scoring and the bowling on A 1 tl ? e end of the first round of Auckland club cricket matches University and Papatoetoe shared the first-round lead. H arris, the former Auckland and New Zealand batsman, took five wickets and then scored 101 not out for Papatoetoe. R. E. Sutton, the rebowler, took six more wickets for Nortti Shore, giving him a match aggregate of 12 for 71 runs—and he twice took the wicket of V. C. Belsham, one of the Auckland selectors. C. Renwick, also discarded, took seven University wickets for 47 runs, and P. p. Morris and D. Taylor, who was not even in the represenu x trainin g squad, both scored brilliant half-centuries. The final points for the first round were: Papatoetoe. University, 28; Cornwall, 24; Suburbs, 23; Eastern, 21; Eden, 20; North Shore, 17; Grafton, 7.
