Christmas Parties

Sir, —Christmas signifies good cheer and hail-fellow-well-met, and if “Fed Up’s” husband gets “one over the eight” (I always lose count after the eighteenth) at this festive season, well, we human mortals can understand and have a good laugh. The statement that “Christmas is one long alcoholic daze for 10 days” is just rubbish. At any rate, I personally are sympathetic with “Fed Up’s” husband, who apparently only breaks away once a year. If I had Mona Lott for a wife, J think I’d be inclined to break more often. Apparently he does not add wife-beating to his other crime. What a pity!— Yours, etc., GEORGE R. HIDES. Dec. 13, 1960.
