Waimate And Burnham Beaten The touring Teachers’ College cricket team beat Waimate on the first innings by 39 runs in a good match played on a hard ground at Waimate last Monday. Waimate won the toss and batted first, compiling 111 runs. In reply. Teachers' College was all out for 100- Top scorer for Waimate was G Hammond, with 41. S. Puller batted well to score 22. Bowling for Teachers’ College. J. Hvndman took four for 28 and B Daniell took four for 48. K. Hoskin top scored with 33 for Teachers’ College J Hnldt hit up » good 22 D. Hawke was the best of the Waimate bowlers. He took three wickets for 14.
The tourists also recently beat Burnham by 51 runs on the first innings in a match plaved on a soft Pitch at Bumham. In their first innings, the tourists made 156- Burnham could only make 105. Top scorer .or Teachers’ College <T« as ™ Findlay who hit up a eood , .5" ’amp was the most successful Of the Burnham bowlers, takine four wickets for 38 runs O’Sullivan took four wickets for 51. A. McOscar scored 37 for Bumto ton score. For Teachers’ Cnllese P. Boal took four for 20 and M. Howell took four for 32.
