Housewives’ Hygiene Criticised
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, December 11. “The housewife was the worst offender of the lot in the matter of poor hygiene in bread handling,” a member of the Master Bakers’ Association, Mr R. J. -Goold, told the quarterly meeting of health inspectors in Auckland. “She leaves, a shocking form of container for the baker to put bread in. It is left open for all the birds to have a good feed,” Mr Goold said. He said the public was going off wrapped bread because it lost the crispness in the crust which they liked.
