SATELLITE CAPSULE

Recovery By U.S. (N.Z. Press Association— Copyright) LOS ANGELES, Dec. 10. United States Air Force planes from Hawaii today successfully retrieved a capsule ejected from the nose of the orbiting satellite Discoverer XVIII. an Air Force spokesman reported tonight. The 3001 b capsule, which contained intelligence gear and human tissue, was recovered near Hawaii, it w.as reported. It was ejected as the satellite was over Alaska. Discoverer XVIII was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base, near Los Angeles, on December 7 and went into polar orbit. Since then it has travelled 1,248.000 miles around the earth.
