VINTAGE CARS AT RANGIORA

More Than 64 Entries For Rally Today

The 64 official entries in the vintage car rally being held at Rangiora today is a record number for the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Vintage Car Club. The number of vintage and veteran cars present will be even greater than this, as an T other 10 models are expected to attend the rally, but will not be entered for official inspection or competition. Among models displayed, two of special interest will be a 1934 V 12-cylinder Pierce Arrow, and a 1903 Weston. The Pierce Arrow was America’s premier car'until production ceased in 1935. The car will be entered by a Blenheim owner, who recently brought the car from the North Island.

The Weston is a single-cylinder chain-drive model of six horsepower, and with a two-speed box. The car is typical of the American runabouts of the period, and is displayed by Mr T. A. Shadbolt, of Christchurch.
