ALTERATIONS AT NURSING SCHOOL
Working drawings have been prepared for alterations to the School of Nursing at the Christchurch Hospital, and have been sent to the Health Department for approval. It is hoped that a start may be made on the work early next year.
The alterations involve an internal rearrangement of the classroom and administration block to provide for the larger classes of nurses now going through the school. Classes these days average from 40 up to 70. a great increase on the average size of classes when the buildings were put up. The small size of the present classrooms has meant that either the nurses are squashed into the rooms or the lectures have to be duplicated.
