N.S.W. Declares In Game Against Victoria
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE, December 5. • New South Wales declared its first innings at seven for 411 on the third day of its Sheffield shield match against Victoria today after A. Davidson and I. Craig had both scored centuries.
Davidson hit 122 not out in 232 minutes. His innings included 14 fours. Craig scored 106 in 272 minutes before he was caught off R. Gaunt’s bowling. At stumps, Victoria had lost two for 90. Davidson's batting was chanceless. In partnership with Chaig he put on 80 in 81 minutes 'and with J. Martin, 59 in 53 minutes.
The best bowler for Victoria was I. Meckiff. who took three for 146. R. Gaunt bad two for 105 and L. Kline two for 95.
Batting for Victoria late in the day, C. McDonald scored 37 before being dismissed by Rorke. W. Lawrie hit 23.
The New South Wales bowler, J. Martin, took one for 13 and G. Rorke scored one for 24.
