Mr Holyoake’s Comment
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 5.
“The statement I made last Thursday gave the figures supplied to me by the Treasury and the Reserve Bank,” said Mr Holyoake tonight, commenting on Mr Nordmeyer’s statement. “They were not couched in such optimistic terms as the statement now made by Mr Nordmeyer. “A complete examination of the country’s finances cannot, of course, be undertaken till after the change of Government. When this is done the people will be told the facts of the situation.”
