i 1 Wellington Festival A photographic competition ' open to all residents of New Zealand has been announced by the ■ chairman of the Festival of Wel- • lington arts committee (Dr. W. B. - Sutchl. “This is the last of the series of 1 art and design competitions asso--1 ciated with the 1961 Festival of Wellington,” Dr. Sutch said. "The ■ subject. ‘Wellington Streets,’ has 1 been chosen to encourage the - imaginative, original, and artistic 5 portrayal of unusual aspects of ’ the streets, steps, and by-ways I of the Wellington urban area :n- - eluding, if necessary, their im- ’ mediate environment. Judges will - take into account artistic merit, ? originality, and photographic technique.” I There are two sections in the i competition, a monochrome print ■ and a colour slide. The first • prize for the monochrome print is I a camera valued at £2O, and the . second prize an exposure meter . valued at £lO 10s. In the colour . slide section the first prize is a ■ camera valued at £25. and the . second an exposure meter valued , at £lO 10s.
