United States Treasury figures showed today that the Government’s gold reserves had fallen below 18.000,000.000 dollars for the first time in nearly 21 years The daily Treasury statement for November 21 listed gold assets of 17,996,033.983 dollars and 59 cents. The last time the Treasury’s gold stocks were below 18,000,000,000 dollars was on. February 7, 1940, when they fell 3,000,000 dollars under that mark.
