Radio Listeners’ Guide

To allow radio listeners to keep a record of the General Election returns as they are broadcast on Saturday evening, “The Press” will publish a chart on Saturday morning. The 80 electorates will be shown, and there will be space against all of the 270 candidates for progress returns and the final yesult.

The electorates will be numbered according to the numbers used by the Broadcasting Service, which will give a complete cover of the results from 7.15 p.m. onwards, with further summaries on Sunday. Two maps will also be published, one showing boundaries of the European electorates, and the other the boundaries of the Christchurch electorates.
