CHRISTMAS PARTY
Townswomen At Riccarton
The Ohrismas party of the Riccarton Townswomen’s Guild was held recently in the St. Ninian’s Church Hall. Mrs J. Fowler presided and welcomed members, husbands and friends. Speciallyinvited guests included Mesdames F. Pheloung and F. Sanger, from the Canterbury Area Federation; and representatives from sister guilds.
The programme opened with communit;' singing, led by Mr F. Sanger at the piano. Items by the choir followed, and songs were given by Mesdames F. Sanger, A. Rodger, and Miss B. Loader. After three humorous sketches, banjo items were given by Mrs N. Reeves, and songs to his own accompaniment by Mr I. Weir.
The Christmas cake, made by Mrs J. Collins, was cut by the president, Mrs J. Fowler.
