Brooklands W.D.F.F.
The Brooklands branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers held its twelfth annual birthday party recently in the Brooklands Hall. Members put on a show entitled “The Girls of St. Trinians.” Mr and Mrs W Scott presented a play entitled “The Plumber" and solos were sung by Mrs R. Kitts. Mrs R. Hewson, the president, welcomed the guests. Mrs J. Blamires, president of the Christchurch Provincial W.D.F.F., extended greetings from visiting branches. Mrs Blamires presented prizes for the year’s competitions as follows: Decorative section, Mrs E. Scott; flowers, Mrs E. Green; cooking, Mrs I. Reidford; sewing, Mrs I. Reidford.
The silver cup, awarded to the most consistent entrant, was won by Mrs E. Green. The birthday cake, made .by Mrs I. Reidford and decorated by Mrs E. Scott, was cut by Mrs Blamires.
