Mr N. F. Evdokeyev. First Secretary at the Russian Legation in Wellington attended a ceremony in Christchurch last / evening marking the forty-third anniversary of the Russian Revolution. The ceremony was held in conjunction with the annual reunion of the Christchurch branch of the Society for Closer Relations with the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Mr Evdokeyev will address the Junior Chamber of Commerce at Timaru and the Timaru branch of .the United Nations Association today. Mr James Collins, who has been appointed a member of the new Arts Advisory Council, is chairman of the Christchurch executive of .the New Zealand Opera Company, president of the Christchurch Operatic Society, and an associate director of, Skellerup Industries Ltd. These positions were confused in an earlier report from Wellington.
