“MAN, MASTER NOT SLAVE”

We know Social Credit to be a fundamental truth. Its philosophy is based on Christian principles. Its main concept is to give to the people the opportunity to receive the full benefits of a Christian democracy. Its financial policy is for the benefit of mankind, and man will be its master, not its slave. With the adoption of our financial system, limitless reward will be oni’ birthright.

During the history of this coyn* try other political parties have promised these things, but they have not fulfilled them. Both the National and Labour Parties are slaves to the present financial system, and both are used to apply the yoke of financial strangulation to the people who have placed their trust in them. The results of over 100 years of this applied lunacy, have plunged our nation into unrepayable. debt. What right have we to place this mortgage on the lives of the unborn? This is a blatant contradiction of Christian philosophy. The private banking system owns this mortgage, which was in its creation, almost costless.

It is for these reasons that 1. and thousands of others, feel compelled to take active participation in the reform of the present iniauitous system.

We believe that if society is to progress morally and materially, and within the framework 'Of Christian democracy, we must bring to an end this deliberate policy of arrested development. As a political force. Social Credit aims at regaining for the people the public ownership p£ their own credit. ■

We will cut out wasteful Stnfte expenditure. An immediate and ” thorough overhaul of Government spending will be made fnr the purpose of reducing the load carried by the taxpayer. Wake up before vou lose your freedom and all that is dear in a Christian democracy. Socialism is around the corner. Under National or Labour you were fooled before. Take heed, only have one choice. Social Credit is the only answer, so don’t waste your vote. A vote for National or Labour is a vote for higher taxation, more controls and less freedom. You’ve put them on trial before and thev failed you. Act decisively at this election, and vote Barwood for a new way of life and increased orosperity for all. Less debts and taxation, more cornsumption of goods without time-payment and greater security for all. We will see that your rates will not he increased with increased development. If you want these things which arc yours by right, then you must vote Social Credit. We are a league of electors, and do not believe in the party system. When you elect me as your member in the House, I represent you and the Waitaki electorate, not the party. My vote is cast on your behalf. This is democracy not party dictatorship.
