CONFIDENT OF CHANGE

There will be a change of Government on November 26.

The chief reason for this change will be the general feeling of having been deceived which is uppermost in the minds of those electors who in the past have been supporters of the Labour cause. The list of broken and unfilled promises, coupled with the extra burden of taxation which all have been called upon to carry, has 'undermined the confidence that even the most enthusiastic Labour supporter had in Mr Nash and his comuddlers. There has never been such a collection of incompetents in charge of the country’s affairs. One has only to mention such matters as the Nelson railway and the Mangere airport to know that fair play and the basic rules of economics have either been thrown away or stupidly ignored. It is surely one of the essentials of sound democratic government that there shall be one code of action for all, and that every item of government expenditure shall be subject to the closest scrutiny to assure that public money is invested in only those projects which are economically sound. Both these rules have been blatantly ignored. Russian Visit No greater disservice has been done the Western World than the statements made by Mr Nash on his recent visit to Russia. In his disparaging comparison between Mr Eisenhower and Mr Khrushchev, Mr Nash not only revealed his sympathy for our enemies—and world domination is still the Soviet objective—but also presented a propaganda weapon to the Communists which must have delighted all behind the Iron Curtain.

! It is the National Party’s pledge that it will resist every encroachment on our Western privileges, land shoulder its full share, in the name of New Zealand, of i every responsibility for collective J security. This is a time when all ■good men and true should reassert “that those who are not for us are against us.” New Zealand needs and deserves real loyal leadership. Mr Holyoake is the man to provide it. A vote for your National canI didate on November 26 is a vote for liberty and security.
