Scrap Metal Dealers And Mill Sponsors

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 20.

The first Dominion-wide meeting of the newly formed Scrap Metal Dealers’ Association agreed to appoint a negotiator to act for the trade 'in what the association described as a “fight for survival against a monopoly take-over which has been set up with the knowledge of the Government.” The negotiator will be instructed to approach the Government Fletcher Holdings, Ltd., and Industrial Metals, Ltd., the co-spon-sors of the proposed merchant bar mill in Auckland, to agree on a new plan for the supply of scrap metal to- the mill
