Early Traffic From Airport

Microwave speed detectors on Fendalton road and Memorial avenue at 2.30 a.m. on recent Sunday mornings had caused “many surprises,” the Waimairi County Council was told last evening. Microwave patrols of these roads were necessary late on Saturday nights and into the early hours of Sunday morning because of “thick and fast” traffic from Christchurch Airport, the county traffic officer (Mr J. C. Butterfield) reported.
