University Examination Results

Sir, —As a student I would like to express my dissatisfaction with the new policy of the University of Canterbury in with-holding examination results until December 19. Are not some of the arguments given, e.g., that which allegedly considers the students’ interests, more cogent in favour of an early release? Could not results be published as soon as each set of papers has been marked with a few days’ advance notice of the release, so that students will know when to expect their results? Now that university staffs are overpaid rather than underpaid the sons and daughters of taxpayers expect more considerate service.— Yours, etc., HURRY UP, BOYS. November 15, 1960.
