N.Z. MESSAGE TO KENNEDY

. Eisenhower Also Thanked

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 13. The Prims* Minister, Mr Nash, has sent a congratulatory message to Mr John Kennedy on his election as United States President. Mr Nash has also sent a cable of appreciation to President Eisenhower for all he has “accomplished for the prosperity and security of the people of the world.”

Mr Nash’s message to Mr Kennedy says: “On behalf of the New Zealand people, I extend warmest congratulations on your election as President of the United States. My Cabinet colleagues and I feel sure that under your Presidency, America will maintain its most generous devotion to the burdensome but inspiring tasks of leadership in international affairs directed to the cause of peace and freedom. “You may be assured that the Government and people of New Zealand will, in the future as in the past, continue wholeheartedly to work with the United States in preserving world peace and expanding prosperity everywhere. I offer my own good lyishes to you for a most fruitful and successful term of office.” "Integrity And Vision”

The message to President Eisenhower said: “As the term of your long and fruitful administration draws to a close, I should like, on behalf -of the Government and people of New Zealand, and on my own behalf, to express wholehearted appreciation for all you have accomplished for the prosperity and security of the peoples of the world. Your own dedication to the ideals of freedom and the cause of peace has “been the deepest source of strength and inspiration throughout the free world and especially to those of us in the smaller countries. “I know I speak for all sections of the New Zealand people in paying tribute to your integrity and vision and to your leadership in world affairs, and in expressing to you and to Vice-President Nixon and to the members of your Government our warmest thanks and good wishes for the future.”

Fell From Cycle.— Mr Samuel Richard Brown, of 122 Riccarton road, suffered leg injuries when he fell from his bicycle in -Riccarton road outside the Riccarton Totaiisator Agency Board’s premises about 1.30 p.m. on Saturday. He was taken to the Christchurch Hospital and admitted.
