A Milton man was washed off a rock and drowned while fishing in the sea near the Cape Saunders lighthouse at noon on Saturday. He was

Desmond Kreft, about 45. married, of 27 Bums street. Milton.

Mr Kreft was fishing with his 15-year-old son and another man. He was washed into the sea by a wave which swept over the rocks on which, they were standin" at 1145 am.

Mr Kreft could hot swim. He was seen “dog paddling” in the water for some minute.,. but then disappeared He was wearing knee-length gumboots.
